# Merchant Account - MID

MID (Merchant ID) is the "Merchant Identifier" that is issued by payment card processors when a merchant opened a processing merchant account.0

# What It's For

Used by credit card processors to locate the merchant and effectively assist the merchant.

MID is also used to monitor bank account transactions between a business and the merchant and to make sure that payment information is stored in a database.

# When To Use It

1. When the merchant contacts customer support, providing the MID will allow them to immediately locate the business and retrieve data.

2. When a merchant closes an account, providing a MID will help to guarantee that the account being terminated is accurate.

# Where To Find It

* The front of the terminal - Above the screen

 * Bank statement subject of debit and credit from the processing company

* The top right corner of the merchant monthly statement 

* Contact the sales agent or the customer service team for information
