CardPointe - Using the Virtual Terminal on Web

Introduction



CardPointe is a comprehensive and secure cloud-based platform that makes accepting and managing payments simple. Using CardPointe, you can: Authorize, capture, void, and refund transactions from your desktop or mobile device.


Note: The method provided in the article is only recommend when terminal or computer is not function correctly, forget to add tips after batch, or refund purposes. Making sales on the virtual terminal is consider hand swipe card, if chargeback occurs, there's a high chance for the merchant to pay additional fee and not be able to get refund. (For more information, please refer to the articles about Chargeback.)



By using the Virtual Terminal, the merchant can conduct transactions, cancel transactions or issue refunds through the CardPointe online portal. Additionally, the merchant can easily and securely keep records of all transactions.



Log In to CardPointe Portal



CardPointe Website(https://cardpointe.com)

Log in with the account and password.
Account registration link will be sent to merchant's private email address, please login with email to register. If you are having problem logging in, please contact your agent or merchant service. If you forgot the password, please click 'forgot password' button to reset.

Select Virtual Terminal



Steps of charging fees in Virtual Terminal:

Please make sure that you are in the options of Sales
Fill out the Name on Card
Fill out the credit card number and Expired Month (MM) & Expired Year (YYYY) on the right side
Enter the Amount you want to charge
Click on Process Transaction

If the refund is successful, the page will jump to the Transaction Detail screen. On the top left of the page, there's choices to choose to print out the receipt by click on " Print Receipt," or choose to send the receipt to registered email address by click on " Email Receipt."





Declined



If the notification box shown up says Declined, the total number will turned into red. Charge declined mostly happens when the credit card has no significant fund, not authorized, expired, or card information is not correct, etc...

Adding on, on the Transaction Detail screen, the status will show up as Declined if the transaction is not successful. The reason for the failure of the transaction will be explained in the Response.
