How to Set Upsell Recommendations in the Front Merchant Portal?

The Upsell Recommendations feature is designed to help you increase the average order value of your store. You can independently choose to recommend high-margin items, drinks, sides, or desserts to quickly optimize your profit structure and accurately meet customer needs.

Follow the steps below:

I. Quick Login and Access

1. Enter admin.fronttab.com in your browser and log in with your merchant account and password.

2. Navigate to the menu bar: 【Marketing】 ➔ 【Upsell Recommendations】.

3. At the top of the configuration page, toggle the status to 【Enable Upsell】, select your preferred recommendation mode, and save to activate the feature.

II. Flexible Display Settings

You can choose one of the following modes or use them in combination based on your restaurant's style (checking the option under the corresponding channel activates it):

• Full-Screen Recommendation (Show upsell pop-up before checkout):
• Effect: A high-quality full-screen pop-up will appear when the customer is ready to check out.
• Features: Strongest visual impact; ideal for promoting high-profit signature snacks or specialty drinks.

• Embedded Recommendation (Embed upsell module on the checkout page):
• Effect: Recommended items are displayed as a horizontal list at the bottom of the checkout page.
• Features: Provides a smoother shopping experience; ideal for standard side dishes like fries or dipping sauces.

III. Select Recommendation Mode & Configure Items

• Smart Mode: No manual selection required. The system automatically recommends top-selling items based on your store's sales data from the last 30 days. Select this mode and click 【Save and publish】 to finish.

• Customized Mode : Allows merchants to set specific rules. For example, if a customer selects item A, B, or C, the system automatically recommends item D for precise targeting.

• Manual Selection: Under the Customize mode, you can manually select items by clicking 【+ Add another】 to choose products for the recommendation slots (fast-prep, high-margin items are recommended).

• Quick Add: Customers can click the "+" button next to the recommended item to add it to their cart directly without returning to the menu.

To ensure the best customer experience, please keep the following rules in mind:

• The Upsell Recommendation feature is applicable to both Online Order and Front Kiosk platforms.
• To avoid bothering customers, the full-screen Upsell pop-up only appears once per order.
• The recommendation feature only triggers when specific order conditions or amount requirements are met.
